The Cascade and Cas3 binding system in Escherichia coli orchestrates a meticulous process for degrading invading phage DNAs. This process involves unwinding the DNA and cleaving it into smaller fragments, as shown in the illustration.
The molecular visualization project was executed using C4D, ePMV, and Pymol. Initially, protein structures of Cascade and Cas3 were retrieved from the Protein Data Bank, imported into C4D via ePMV, and then streamlined within C4D.
These structures were simplified to function as containers for DNA strands and be applied the see-through effect. The project showcases the accurate positioning of the DNA strands in relation to the proteins, illustrating their interactions.
